This is so important to remember for when I am not in the midst of grief but others may be. I learned in my chaplaincy training that there is a ministry that sometimes is more powerful to any other. it is essential for those in deep loss or trauma. It is called the ministry of presence. It is where you do not say a word but either hold a hand, hug or just be with the wounded. Sometimes there are just no words and it is better to say nothing and just give them time to cry or talk or sit and stare into space if needed.

This blog post points this out beautifully and helps me to really, truly connect at a heart level. To really be present in the moment and weep with those who weep.
